The OVA 60th Annual Golf Day was contested in perfect conditions at the Royal Hobart Golf Club on Friday November 5.

A capacity field of 35 teams, 140 players, greeted the starter with the 'shot gun' going off at 12.15pm to launch a fantastic day of spirited competition.

Despite being soaked in recent weeks with Hobart's spring rain the course was in magnificent condition. A few players no doubt enjoyed the free drop from water filled bunkers! The greens were lightning quick and a few horror stories emerged of four and five putt greens!

Scoring on the day was outstanding and each division was closely contested. Nigel 'Badger' Shaw won the Br E Joyce Trophy for the best score by an Old Virgilian. He won on from a fast finishing Rob Braithwaite.
