70th anniversary of winning Head of the River.
The surviving members of the 1953 winning Head of the River crew met up at Austins Ferry to celebrate the 70th anniversary of that feat. Doug Hughes joined the group – Doug was a member of the 1951 winning crew .

Sadly John Wilmshurst (2) and Fr Bill Egan (stroke) have passed away.
The photo was taken in the Centenary History Centre – note the Old Virgilian shell suspended from the roof - ‘ twas in it that victory came.
